Parent Orientation, Mar 9 & 10
Parent Orientation is today, March 9 and tomorrow, March 10, 5-6pm at the Community Center in Sopris Room C. This is a mandatory meeting so parents must either attend one of the days next week or schedule a makeup day before their swimmer can get in the water for next season. Board members will be present to answer any questions and go over the new and improved Handbook. Please contact Toni if you are not able to attend one of these nights and she will schedule a makeup day for you.
Dark Green & Black Group Break
Damon's Dark Green and Black groups will be on break from March 8-17. If your swimmer will be gone over the school's spring break and they would like to continue swimming next week, they can attend the light green group practice.
Summer Program
The Summer Practice Schedule is posted to the left. New swimmers interested in swimming this summer should go to the Registration page to download and complete the Summer Registration Packet.

The Sopris Barracudas offer a year-round swim program to young people who live in Glenwood Springs, Carbondale, and nearby communities. The team exists to provide an opportunity for young people to learn about and participate in competitive swimming. We are celebrating our 39th year and our philosophy is for every swimmer to be prepared to compete to the maximum of his or her ability, and to have fun doing so. We train at the Glenwood Springs Community Center, at 5763 feet.
The Sopris program offers three practice levels : White; Green; and Black. On joining the team, Coach Damon will evaluate your swimmer and determine his/her appropriate practice level. White is the beginning level of our program, and the proficiency of the swimmers increases at each level, with corresponding increase in the practice time and intensity. We are members of USA Swimming; Colorado Swimming (CSI); and the Western Slope League.
